  • Poor Customer Service and False Advertising

I went in to the Royal Oaks store and specifically was looking for chair slip covers as my mother in law had recommended that they had some nice ones. The green geometric patterned chair slipcover caught my eye, and as I looked at the tag it said it was being offered at 49.95. I thought I got a bargain and asked the salesperson if this was correct. When she went to check, she said no it was usually 59.95, but since it was tagged at the price I saw that they would honor it just for the green one and not the other colors. I said ok fair enough and proceeded to the counter with 4 green ones.... More...

I wonder if perhaps someone could explain why your Canadian website (once one FINDS IT) is so difficult to maneuver and so far off from being user friendly? I honestly called my local store to inquire about a price, to find out that although I was quite sure I was in the .ca site, seemingly I was not and had to be walked through it. The sales staff was exceptional and was also perplexed by why there is such an enormous different in the two sites. Once I arrived to where I needed to be, it was an extreme disappointment and to say it was an adventure in frustration would be putting it very... More...

Recently I had gone to the Cape and on the way home I stopped at one of your stores. I had brought several things and one of them was a broom. When I got back to CT I realized that I didn't have it, so I took my receipt to the Manchester CT location and told them what had happened. First they told me that I had to go back to MASS to get the broom. Then finally they called the store in MASS (what I had suggested at the beginning) and was told that I did leave the broom there. It was very frustrating as I work in customer service and I spend LOTS of money at your store and after a while... More...

I am an interior designer and purchase approx. $200,000 worth of furniture through client purchases a year. I know all the various retail accessory and furniture stores in Colorado Springs and what types of inventory they have. I also know the quality of customer service that these stores offer and frankly, Pier One has recently provided poor service several times - specifically, the Powers Blvd. store. I went in to purchase a $200.00 bench on Tuesday, November 8, 12:45 PM and was treated in a rude way by two of the employees. The manager, a woman of about 33 years of age, taller with... More...

The store: 1338 I was charged for an item thar I did not purchase. I went back to the store. They did correct their overcharge error. I also returned a few items that I decided not to purchase. The gentleman did apologize for the error. Also, I had purchased 4 cobolt blue water goblets the first visit. (SKU 2208844) They were not on sale so to speak. The sign just read $4. I bought 4. When I got home from the 2nd trip to the store, I noticed a pricing tag over another. The first tag read $3.50. I will not make a 3rd trip to the store. I am sure Pier 1 is counting on that. However, I may... More...

I bought 6 chairs at Pier One two years ago. Three of the chairs broke down in the seat area starting at the very back. Customer service told me at first they whould give me a credit on each chair-- tthen another time said they would give a credit on 3 chairs or possibly 6 replacement chairs--- Then I received a phone call from Don the customer service representative who told me that I should pick up the chairs and that I would receive nothing from the store. What a dishonest company. More...

  • Product/Customer Dissatisfaction

To start off I would like to say that I will most likely never shop at Pier One again. Our experience started off good, sales lady was very informative and pleasant. We found a love seat we wanted to buy, but they did not have it in stock. We asked if we could buy the floor model but denied. That was fine. We were also interested in a table but were not sure if it would work until we checked at home. We were told they would order one in for us for the next week. (we do not live in kelowna but in Vernon) The next week we picked up our loveseat and wanted to buy the table, but they... More...

  • Survey

I,too, was told to go online within 48 hours of my Pier 1 purchase and complete a survey. I am not about to spend a lot of time searching for this survey, but agree with the other commenter that it cannot be found. It would be nice if I could find it, because my receipt states that upon completing the Pier 1 survey, I will receive a coupon for $10.00 off my next purchase of $50.00 or more. Since I really like Pier 1 merchandise, and my spouse has been unemployed for over a year and a half, the opportunity to save $10.00 would have been quite nice. All I can say is, "Please get it... i was told to go to this site to obtain a $10. coupon off my next $50 purchase. There is nowhere to submit feedback for that or complete a survey of Pier 1 Imports. Iwas also told that if I provided my email address I would receive a 10% discount coupon for another purchase. I received an email with no coupon. This is very disappointing and I will think twice about shopping at your store again. More...

I purchased furniture and cushions . The sales help was just very attentive, and informed. So very pleasant . I could not put all my great buys in my car , and the associate sales manager went out of her way , after a day at work to personally drop it off at my home. I was more than impressed, in a world all about "me" and "time"this service was more than impressive. This young lady is more than an asset to your company she is an example at what the standard for sales help should be. I will be telling friends of this experience. This young lady did make a difference.... More...

I, too, went shopping at Pier 1, received my receipt and notice that i receive $10 off of $50 purchase. Went online to complete the survey...where's the survey? I noticed in the reviews every single person except one has the same question. It is a waste of consumers time and effort if Pier 1 isn't going to make it convenient for the customer. makes me wonder if this is a rip-off. More...

When I enterede the store, plastic wicker stackable outdoor chairs were fearured at $49.95. I noticed that on thwe other side of the display there were green chairs, which was my preference, and they were exactly the same. They were marked $10 higher. When I questioned this, the sales associate asked the manager if the price could be met of the other colrs feature, to which she flatly said no and she could not work magic. I felt this was a rude response, and based on a similar incident with another manager, not only did he match the price, but offered a small discount as a courtesy. I... More...

  • Payment Credited Late

I mailed my first payment on my new Pier 1 credit card account in time to make my payment due date (5 days to get from Colorado to Illinois), but it was not credited to my account until 10 days later. I was charged interest of $15.37 (at 23%) and a $35 late fee. They absolutely insist it was not received until the later date, and refuse to credit my account for any portion of the fees assessed. I am so angry, and think they must be running a scam of holding payments like I have heard some other companies do. I have canceled my account. More...

  • New stock deals

I was in the store in Brampton's Trinity Common for a kitchen item and ended up purchasing 2 outside chairs. Nicole was so helpful when I asked why a wicker chair was so inexpensive and she explained new stock arrivals came in damaged. The quality of the product is obvious and the small bit of damage didn't affect the enjoyment of the item so I inquired about a 2nd chair I saw. She provided the same explanation and I bought that one too. She was very helpful with suggestions on how to accessorize to make the 2 chairs appear to be a natural match. More...

Beware! I applied for a Pier 1 card back in Feb, was approved at the store. Within a week, someone other than myself was using my line of credit, in a state 3,000 miles away from my home town, without a physical card. After investigating, my local sheriff found out that someone walked into a store in KY, gave the clerk just the # on the account... no card... The clerk says she checked for ID, last 4 of SS, and date of birth. Did she or didn't she? Sheriff theorizes that someone, more than likely a Pier 1 employee, got a hold of my info and is now using that info and my account #. Nothing more has happened with my credit, leading the sheriff to believe this is an inside job, so to speak. Since all this has happened, I've had to put a freeze on my credit, sign up for Lifelock, and need to monitor my credit activity daily. So think twice before applying for a card with Pier 1. Trust me, it's not worth the money or the effort I've had to shell out to protect my ID. An added note, on a local, regional and corporate level, Pier 1 has refused to help law enforcement in catching the individual using my information. They have insisted that I pay the fraudulent charges. I've had to take legal actions to deal with this issue alone.

I purchased a beautiful but pricey hand-made computer armoire and as I always do with any major purchase, as soon as I got home with it I placed the receipt in an envelope and taped it to the back of the furniture. After about a year of gentle use the keyboard drawer suddenly slipped off its track causing a visible crack in the bamboo wood. My father is one of those guys that can fix just about anything so I had him take a look at it. He said that he could fix the drawer but it would likely make the crack in the wood worse. So, I slid my hand behind the armoire and got the receipt and called the customer service number listed and I explained what happened. They were polite and apologetic and helped me arrange a return to the local store where I purchased it. My father and my boyfriend loaded it in to his pick-up and as they were driving it around to the back of the store I went inside to start the paperwork. They were excellent! They gave me the full purchase price back which was just about $1,000 and while my dad & bf were unloading the piece I couldn't resist doing a little shopping and ended up spending most of the money at Pier 1 again.

Recently
purchased a wicker patio table at pier1 liberty tree mall (MA) site.
But had to return it the following day because upon opening the box i
found the screw on the bottom part of the table was defective- at first i
thought i'll live with it but the table was unstable so i ended up
going back to the store. Purchasing the item was so easy (i placed an
order online for same day store pick-up).. the associate who helped me
was so friendly, helpful and very pleasant which i later learned that
she's the store manager(Jackie)...so nice that she even convinced me to
opened a credit card w/c i often decline before, waited patiently for me
til i finish scouting the store for other stuff and even loaded the box
herself in my car while its raining and her shoes/feet got wet because
of rain puddle in front of their store. My only complaint was during
the return of the table... (btw called first talked to associate anne
(??) and reported about the broken screw...put on hold... and referred
to store manager who didnt introduce her name...reported about the
broken table again...she said they'l replace it...put on hold again to
checked if theres another one in stock... unfortunately none and need to
order it...i asked if i just need to return the defective table part so
as to spare myself of the pain of carrying and bringing the whole thing
in box again, but she declined. So i loaded the whole table( thank God
i havent assembled it yet but i wasnt able to return all inside the box
to its orig packaging) to the car and headed back to the store. since i
cant carry all pieces at the same time, went in with the defective part
thinking i can probably ask to switch and just get the one on display.
i was surprised that nobody even greeted me as soon as i entered the
door which they normally do.. where in fact there were no customers
(around 8pm) except for 1 who at that time chatting with the store
manager(jackie) w/ all her purchases ready on the trolley and there were
3 associates at the counter. i have to wait a few mins before i
asserted myself and bother them of whatever theyre doing. i was so nice
and calm when i spoke to one associate and request if they can just
replace the part with what they have on display and again was referred
to the store manager (jackie ) and again got declined- was surprised
that shes a totally different person compare to the one who sold me the
item. this time she was so dismissive and i remember not getting any
apology even in the phone fr, her or among her staff. Not even offered
to helped or ask any of her staff to help me get the other table
pieces... i was really pissed..this time i felt like it was my fault why
their item was broken and they were rude.. finally brought all pieces
inside and an associate (erin) facilitate the online order of the
table... when she was finished i received a "thank u very much auto
answer fr. her which i replied thanks but i felt she didnt mean it.. im
expecting she'll say "im sorry ma'am for the defective item..or sorry
for the inconvenience,"" but nothing like that... i can say im a good
customer and i never filed a complaint to any service i received ever,
except for this one...i felt discriminated (im an asian), i forgot to
mention that as soon as i turned my back heading out fr the store...
overheard the associate (who processed the replacement order) and
another associate (?orientee/observing) chuckling...soo rude and
unacceptable... i love some of their products but i told myself never to
go back to the store again except to pick-up my replacement order...
lesson learned- should always open the box and checked purchased items
before leaving the store so as to save myself of all the inconveniences
of returning back a defective item. Thank you for reading my novel....im
just so pissed!

I shopped at Pier1 yesterday and the sale person asked me to do complete the survey. The shopping at Pier1 was very pleasant despite the cashier forgot to return my credit card. Fortunately I realized that when I was only 3 blocks away from the store. Boy, it is not easy to find the Pier1 survey site. Where is the site?

Hi, I tried to go to http://www.pier1.com/feedback to complete the survey within the 72 hours required to receive the $10.00 off my next purchase of $50 or more and it would not accept a comment. Is there a problem with the site?
